Pakyns Equestrian provides excellent and personalised care for horses on a quiet yard in Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex. There is a real ‘horse first’ approach to management, with ad lib hay and garunteed daily turnout. With the owners living and working onsite, a flexible and thorough service is always delivered.
Sophie and Karen Rees own and run Pakyns Equestrian. Sophie has been riding since a young age and competing nationally British Showjumping for many years. Sophie has a passion for working with horses on the ground, and enjoys incorporating groundwork into training programs, and uses these techniques to help owners with horses that can be challenging to load. Sophie is a qualified instructor (UKCC Level 2), BHS first aided, DBS checked, and fully insured. She offers teaching from the yard in Hurstpierpoint, as well as travelling locally. Polework, groundwork, and gridwork clinics are held regularly at the yard.
Karen has ridden all her life and has enjoyed equestrian successes including owning a horse who competed with William Funnel on the Nations Cup team and jumped in the Hickstead Derby. She now enjoys focussing on dressage with her horse Dexter.
